Major Kendall Crocker

Major Kendall Crocker is the Australian Defence Force’s (ADF) only full-time Veterinary Officer with responsibility for Military Working Dogs (MWDs). He has been closely involved with MWDs for a number of years and has worked with all of the ADF’s MWD capabilities. He is currently posted to the School of Military Engineering in Sydney where he has direct responsibility for the health and welfare of Army’s Explosive Detection Dogs as well as training their Handlers in canine health care and advanced first-aid. Major Crocker also trains ADF Health Services personnel in the emergency care of sick and injured MWDs. Major Crocker has deployed in a veterinary role multiple times, including to Afghanistan where he worked with Australian MWD Handlers and US Army Veterinary Corps personnel and to outback Australia providing veterinary care to remote aboriginal communities. He has a strong interest in military history, especially MWDs and the Australian Army Veterinary Corps. Major Crocker is passionate about the training, health and welfare of Australia’s MWDs and the veterinary capability that supports them. This will be Major Crocker’s third Dog Lovers Festival as a presenter. He is looking forward to being part of the Tribute to Military Working Dogs and answering questions from the public about Australian war dogs and their veterinary care.
