Dr Rochelle Paterson – BSc DVM – Neurology Veterinarian

Dr Rochelle completed a Bachelor’s of Science, majoring in Neuroscience. It was here, she first
developed a love for the nervous system and brain. Following this, she completed her studies at the
University of Melbourne to become a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine. After a brief stint in general
practice along the Great Ocean Road, Rochelle travelled to the United States to complete a rotating
internship in Illinois. Here, she says she was able to see and treat a lot of infectious diseases that we
fortunately do not have in Australia.

Upon returning home, Rochelle completed a surgical internship at a private practice in Melbourne
before starting a Neurology & Neurosurgery internship at SASH in Sydney. She is currently working
towards a residency so that she can one day become a specialist and help families and their pets
with neurological problems lifelong.

Rochelle loves all aspects of neurology but has particular interests in intervertebral disc disease
(IVDD), epilepsy and inflammatory brain diseases. She lives with her 16 year old Spoodle Charlie,
who has provided unwavering support during her training and career.
