Established over 50 years ago, our shelter cares for and nurtures homeless animals, while aiming to return as many as possible to their owners or to find them new fur-ever homes.
Each year we rescue and rehome over 1000 animals in need.
AAPS is a community-based, registered Charity that relies almost entirely upon volunteers and community support to provide financial support for the shelter, as we do not receive any ongoing Government funding. We work closely with ALL animal welfare organisations in our endeavour to provide protection, assistance, and welfare for all animals.
By attending the Dog Lover’s Festival we hope to engage with many more porential homes for our animals in need, plus provide information on fostering, pet care, vet services and grooming that are all offered at our shelter.
